Business camera guide · Spherical still photography

The PanoX V2 combines a large touchscreen with high-resolution spherical stills. For property photography, its most interesting promise is a relatively self-contained capture experience. Its biggest buying question is whether the complete processing workflow—not simply the file-format list—fits your business.

## Our assessment: a JPEG-first candidate with a software checklist

Consider the V2 when you value camera-side operation and want to evaluate directly usable spherical JPEGs. Do not buy specifically for a professional RAW workflow until you have processed original DNG files from the exact firmware and camera configuration you intend to use.

For a virtual-tour business, a successful sample should prove three separate things: the scene was captured correctly, the spherical master can be exported reliably, and the uploaded tour preserves the detail and navigation your client needs. A live preview on the camera establishes none of those by itself.

## What the two still sizes mean

### Horizontal pixels in the documented still modes

12K mode — **11968 pixels**

5.7K mode — **5760 pixels**

Zero-baseline specification chart from the manufacturer page above. The larger grid has about 2.08 times the width and 4.32 times the total pixels. That is not a claim of 4.32 times the image quality.

For property tours, inspect the delivered result at a consistent viewing angle. Additional pixels are useful only if the capture, stitching, compression and hosting process retain useful detail. A smaller export can load differently without necessarily changing what a client can distinguish at their normal viewing size.

## RAW support: read the review dates

In [Ivan Alchimista's January 2024 Kuula review](https://blog.kuula.co/cameras-panox-review?ref=gothru.co), RAW capture was not available. He found the touchscreen responsive, described the photographs as reasonably good with somewhat muted colors, and criticized the close, non-adjustable HDR exposure spacing. The article anticipated software improvements; those expectations are not proof of delivery. Kuula also promoted a camera discount alongside the review.

By [Wasim Ahmad's May 2024 Fstoppers review](https://fstoppers.com/gear/review-panox-v2-capable-it-competitive-666508?ref=gothru.co), DNG capture was available, but he reported no manufacturer software for conveniently stitching those files. He liked the ready-made JPEGs and found the JPEG-only HDR mode modestly helpful. Earlier crashes on his supplied review unit had been resolved by a late-March update. These findings concern his test period, not a guarantee about current firmware.

The current official format listing therefore supports a narrower conclusion than either “no RAW” or “complete RAW workflow”: DNG is documented, but we have not verified a current end-to-end manufacturer DNG processing route. If RAW latitude is central to your service, request original files and demonstrate the complete edit and stitch before purchasing.

## A practical property capture and export test

[An independent January 2024 firsthand comparison](https://www.benclaremont.com/blog/which-360-camera-should-you-buy-in-2024?ref=gothru.co) adds a useful counterweight to the favorable JPEG impressions above. In his office scene, the PanoX struggled with bright-window detail and looked soft before editing. After camera-specific processing, he considered its sharpness respectable and its noise low, but still found its dynamic range weaker than most competitors. That is a mixed finding, not evidence that a 72 MP label guarantees strong interior output.

The reviewer also praised the large, sharp screen and measured approximately 30 seconds from power-on to shooting readiness. His separate report of roughly 45 minutes to stitch a ten-minute clip concerns video, not still-photo processing time. These are dated reviewer observations, not our measurements or a verification of current firmware. For our audience, the practical implication is to test both difficult windows and start-stop operation across rooms, rather than accepting a convenient interface as proof of image quality.

1. **Prepare a demanding room.** Include a bright window, shadowed furniture, a doorway and nearby vertical edges. Keep the camera stable.
2. **Compare standard and HDR output.** Inspect window boundaries, shadow color and any moving objects separately. A brighter room is not automatically a better exposure blend.
3. **Export the whole sphere.** Confirm that the file is the intended panorama, not a flat social-media crop. Check its dimensions rather than trusting the preview label.
4. **Inspect seams and orientation.** Review every direction in a spherical viewer, including the floor and ceiling. Look for bent edges, duplicates and support intrusion.
5. **Complete a sample tour.** Check uploaded image quality, initial view, links between rooms and mobile performance before promising a turnaround time.

This is our proposed acceptance test, not a procedure we have validated on a V2\. Keep original captures and the processing version associated with the job. If software changes, rerun the same test scene before changing the workflow used for paid assignments.

### What the documented JPEG workflow actually establishes

In his January 2024 test, [Ivan Alchimista documented in-camera stitching and mobile exports in either spherical or flat form](https://blog.kuula.co/cameras-panox-review?ref=gothru.co). His app connected through a shared Wi-Fi network or the camera's own hotspot, and its live preview was compressed. This is firsthand evidence of a JPEG-oriented delivery route at that time, not evidence of current DNG stitching or guaranteed full-resolution export on every phone.

For a business tour, retain the spherical version as the master and treat any flat promotional crops as separate outputs. Test remote control in the actual building: a connection that works beside the camera may behave differently after the photographer moves behind a wall. Inspect downloaded files rather than judging final detail from the compressed preview.

## Built-in capability is not universal platform integration

A useful example of platform-specific support comes from [Avatour's own hardware documentation](https://avatour.com/hardware-kit?ref=gothru.co): it identifies the V2 as a camera that can run its software directly. That is evidence about Avatour's implementation, not proof that arbitrary virtual-tour or conferencing software runs on the camera.

[GoThru](https://gothru.co/?ref=gothru.co) operates this publication. We have not performed a V2-specific export/upload test for this guide. Evaluate finished still delivery separately from live remote meetings: they have different network, access-control and recording requirements.

On 21 September 2026, the manufacturer's [international download center](https://store.panox.com/pages/download-center?ref=gothru.co) redirected to a store-password page when reopened, despite an indexed listing being available. The Chinese product page still lists JPG and DNG. Neither observation establishes product discontinuation or proves a complete current RAW-processing workflow. This guide does not rely on an old store price or an unverified promise of future desktop software.

## Construction-site virtual tours: workflow and protection matter

For recurring site records, create a [capture-position list organized by floor and zone](https://gothru.co/360-cameras/construction-site-virtual-tours/). Record dates, camera height and inaccessible areas. Where construction changes prevent an identical viewpoint, document the change instead of implying exact before-and-after alignment.

Plan power around the non-replaceable battery and validate your own runtime with the screen, remote connection and capture settings you use. Charging access, cable routing and safe placement belong in the plan; a nominal battery capacity is not a measured day-long capture allowance.

This guide establishes no weatherproofing or hazardous-location certification. Treat dust, rain and active work areas as constraints to resolve before capture. GPS capability, where used, does not turn an indoor panorama into a survey-grade position or a BIM-aligned record. Overview tours should be supplemented with detail photographs when a particular item needs examination.

## Travel photography and alternatives

Compare the V2's camera-side approach with the [Theta X guide](https://gothru.co/360-cameras/ricoh-theta-x/), the still-oriented [Theta Z1 workflow](https://gothru.co/360-cameras/ricoh-theta-z1/) and the [QooCam 3 RAW-merging guide](https://gothru.co/360-cameras/kandao-qoocam-3/). These offer different handling and processing tradeoffs; none is presented as the winner of a GoThru laboratory comparison.

A screen-led workflow may appeal for destination photography, but test it outdoors, with your phone and with the carrying setup you intend to use. Protect the lenses between stops and prove that you can recover and export files before a trip. A convenient capture experience loses its value if the only usable result remains on the device.

Owner-operated [Panorra](https://panorra.com/?ref=gothru.co) is a related outlet for destination storytelling; this is not a claim of tested V2 integration. Keep a full-resolution spherical master independently of any sharing service.

Before choosing the V2 over another camera, compare matched indoor exports, time per accepted scene, software availability and environmental suitability. Our recommendation is conditional: evaluate it for the workflow you can demonstrate now, not the one an early review hoped a later update would provide.

Research checked 21 September 2026\. Current DNG-stitching documentation remains unverified; no hands-on rating is assigned.
